Aspirations

As a child I had always wanted to become a doctor.When I got to the 8th Std I realised that studying Biology and Zoology all ones life wasn't a joke.
When in 12th Std decided to get into Engineering...(As I secured better marks in Maths than in Science which further proved that I would make a horrible doctor)..
Scraped through four torturous,nerve wrecking,painstaking,mind boggling,hair raising years of Engineering with a sense of having achieved one of the most respectable degrees in a duration of not more than four years.
The pride I took in the Engg degree I had earned started to fade soon after. Courtesy:IT Recession of 2002.
I had always thought that I had studied enough,learnt enough,read enough,given 48+5 papers & 24 practicals over 4 years.Now wasn't that sufficient to get me a job? Probably it wasn't..
Thought of becoming a singer..Yeah a bathroom singer.. :)..But there was loads of competition..So dropped the idea.
Then decided to bell the CAT and get into the IIMs..but the CAT dodged me and got away..
Finally landed on Venus...Venus???..an all girls MBA school..
Doesn't sound happening...does it?
Believe me,the first few days I cursed my self for having got into this college.
But eventually realised it wasn't as bad an experience.
MBA taught me a lot,distracted me not an inch (obviously no Adams to keep me off the ground) and of course got me a job.
Now an IT Professional for 1.5 years I feel this is not what I want to do for the rest of my life.
How about becoming a news reader or a journalist?...a Barkha Dutt in the making..

Aspirations can be so volatile,airy,superficial..and so not grounded..I wonder where I am heading.. :)
